This is what the judges said about us:
“Entering past a number of boards offering tasty menu suggestions, I received a wonderful welcome at this book shop/café. There is a super relaxed atmosphere and it feels very much like a community venue where the furniture is comfortable, there is a garden for children to expend their energy and the food is delicious and interesting. The staff love their jobs and this shows in the way they run the café and serve their customers. Both the owner and manager were away on a Friday but life went as usual in the café and book shop.
Nearly all the baked goods are made on the premises, with a few coming in from home baking in Thirsk. I ate a delectable almond traybake, crumbly, light and very almondy.”
Many thanks & congratulations to our fantastic team of staff!
