Gardening on the Menu by Martin and Jill Fish (foreword by Carol Klein)
A practical guide to over 25 different fruits and vegetables to grow in the garden, with over 100 tried and trusted, easy to follow recipes and tasty quick-cook dishes.
Husband and wife team, Martin and Jill Fish are passionate about growing and eating fresh produce from their garden.
In their North Yorkshire garden their productive fruit and veg plot provides an abundance of tasty produce all year round. It is all put to good use: some eaten fresh and the rest stored or preserved.
A professional horticulturist, garden writer and broadcaster, Martin has been giving gardening talks for many years. For the past few years, Jill, a keen gardener and food writer has joined him for a joint talk called ‘Gardening on the Menu’. This book by the same title is a direct response to so many people asking, “When are you going to write a book?”
Martin has been growing vegetables since he was a teenager and he draws on his many years of practical experience to give easy to follow advice and tips on getting the best from your crops.
Jill loves food, especially when it involves fruit and vegetables picked fresh from their garden, and she shares a selection of her seasonal dishes, many of which have been family favourites for many years.
Martin’s love of gardening and Jill’s love of cooking with fresh garden produce make for the perfect combination in ‘Gardening on the Menu’.
